Daguerreotype (Da-gare-o-type) [Daguerre 1839 inventor, -o-, type]
Daguerreotypes were one of the earliest forms of photographs. They exist only as glass plates with positive image. No negatives means no prints. They are fragile and easily degraded. These images record the digital recovery of a badly damaged plate.
